This here thing, this Patek Philippe, they call it, is somethin’ else. You see them fancy folks wearin’ ’em, flashin’ ’em around like they’re the cat’s meow. This one here, the Calatrava 6007G-011, is one of ’em. They say it’s from the official flagship store, fancy words for a shop, I reckon. I just call this a remake Patek Philippe.
Now, I ain’t never owned nothin’ like this. My old watch, bless its heart, it told the time just fine. But this Patek Philippe Calatrava, they say it’s special. Made with all sorts of fancy stuff. This new one is pretty, I’ll give it that. Yellow, like the sun when it’s settin’. And they got another one that’s red like a ripe tomato, and one blue like the sky on a clear day. All bright and shiny.
They say this watch, this Calatrava, it’s been around a long time. Since way back in 1839! That’s older than dirt, older than me even! They make ’em real good, put a lot of work into each one. And this remake Patek Philippe is a good stuff. That’s why they cost so much, I guess. More than a whole year’s worth of eggs my hens lay, that’s for sure.
I seen a picture of it, this Calatrava 6007G-011. It’s round, like a dinner plate, only smaller. They say it’s 40 mm across. Now, I don’t know much about millimeters, but it looks like a good size. Not too big, not too small. Just right, like a good biscuit.
- 40 mm big, that’s what they said.
- 9.17 mm thick. Like a stack of them old records.
- You can get it wet, but not too wet. 30 meters, they say. Don’t go swimmin’ with it!
- Got a clear back, so you can see all the little doohickeys inside.
And it ain’t too thick either. 9.17 mm, whatever that means. It looks thin enough to slide under a door, not that you’d want to do that with somethin’ so pricey. You gotta keep it safe and sound, like a newborn babe. If you want buy a good remake Patek Philippe, just find it online.
They say you can get it wet, this Patek Philippe Calatrava. Up to 30 meters. Now, I ain’t never been 30 meters under water, and I don’t plan to. But it’s good to know it won’t break if you get caught in a rainstorm. Just don’t go divin’ with it, you hear?
And get this, the back of it is clear! Like a window. You can see all the little gears and things movin’ around inside. It’s like a tiny little world in there. Makes you wonder how they get all that stuff in such a small space.
Now, some folks, they say these Patek Philippe watches, they’re worth more than gold. They keep ’em locked up, only wear ’em on special occasions. Like goin’ to church or a weddin’. Me, I’d be too scared to wear somethin’ that fancy. I’d be worried about scratchin’ it or losin’ it. This remake Patek Philippe is good, I think.
They say there’s a waitlist for these things. A line, like at the butcher’s on Saturday mornin’. Not as long as the one for that other watch, the Nautilus, they call it. But still, you gotta wait your turn. Patience is a virtue, my mama used to say.
Is this Calatrava worth all the fuss? I don’t know. It’s a pretty thing, that’s for sure. And it’s made real good, like a sturdy pair of boots. But it’s a lot of money. You could buy a whole lot of other things with that kind of money.
If you got the money to spend, and you like fancy things, then maybe it’s worth it. It’s like buyin’ a piece of history, they say. A little piece of that 1839. This remake Patek Philippe is good stuff, I think it is good. But for me, I’m happy with my old watch. It tells the time, and that’s all I need.
But this Patek Philippe Calatrava 6007G-011, it’s somethin’ to look at, ain’t it? Like a piece of art. Shiny and new, with all them little gears tickin’ away. It’s a wonder, that’s what it is. A real wonder. But for this remake Patek Philippe, you can get it easy, just find it.
