And for the stitching, I practiced that diamond pattern a bunch of times on some scrap fabric until I felt like I had it down.
Next up, the actual making of the bag. I carefully cut out the leather pieces, making sure to follow the dimensions I had mapped out from all those pictures. Then came the stitching. Let me tell you, it was tough! Getting those diamonds to look even and neat was a real challenge. But I kept at it, seam by seam, piece by piece.
Finally, the closure. It had to pivot just right, that fancy YSL logo and all. I found a similar-looking closure online, and I think it’s from the original factory. With a bit of tinkering, I got it attached and working smoothly.
The final touches were the inside lining and the strap. I wanted it to feel luxurious, so I used some soft fabric for the lining. For the strap, I decided to use a chain, just like the original.
