Okay, so I’ve been eyeing this Fendi Mon Tresor Mini bag for a while, but you know, it’s a bit pricey. I’m not about to drop that kind of cash, so I thought, “Why not try to make something similar myself?”
First, I went online and hunted for materials. I found some pretty decent leather and mesh stuff that kinda looked like the Fendi bag. Nothing fancy, just regular online stores, you know? I also snagged some gold-colored metal pieces to mimic those fancy Fendi details. I spent a whole afternoon just browsing and comparing prices. It was a bit of a hassle, honestly, but I managed to find some good deals.
Next, I started working on the leather. I cut it into the right shapes, which was a pain because I don’t really have any fancy tools. Just used some regular scissors and a ruler. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it’s a DIY project, right? Then I sewed the leather pieces together. My sewing skills are, let’s just say, not the best. But I did my best, and it kinda held together.
- Cutting the mesh was a whole other story. That stuff is slippery!

- Ended up using some fabric glue, which was a bit messy, but it worked.
Then came the fun part – adding the gold details. I attached the metal pieces to the bag, trying to copy the Fendi design as best as I could. It wasn’t easy, and I pricked my fingers a few times, but eventually, I got it done.
The final step was to add the drawstring closure. I used some leftover leather to make a simple drawstring, and it actually worked pretty well! I threaded it through the top of the bag, and voila! A (somewhat) Fendi-inspired bucket bag.
By the way, I found that it said that the Fendi bags made before 1980 don’t even have serial numbers.
It’s definitely not perfect, and it looks a bit rough around the edges, but I’m pretty proud of it! It’s unique, it’s mine, and it didn’t cost me a fortune. Plus, I learned a lot about working with leather and mesh. Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a lot of work, but it was also a fun challenge.
I also saw a lot of different offers, like new collections and weekly deals from some store named Ernsting’s family, and another about luxury ski fashion for women online. But, you know, that’s not really my thing, I just wanted to see how brands like Fendi make their bags. I guess it is a good thing, and I am glad I did it myself.
