Okay, so, I got into this whole watch thing a while back, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole. I was looking for something with a bit of history, you know? Something that looked classy but not too flashy. Then I stumbled upon this thing called the “CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Chronoscope.” The name itself sounded fancy, and I was like “what’s this all about?” so I started digging.

First, I just looked at pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. I saw this watch had these little dials inside the main dial, and some numbers around the edge. I learned those are for measuring time, like a stopwatch, but way cooler. I guess “Chronoscope” means something like “time viewer.” Makes sense.

Then I started reading about the real OMEGA Speedmaster, you know the original one. Apparently, these things have been around since, like, 1957! That’s older than my dad! And they were even used in space. That made me curious about this “original order”. And there is a number on the back of the watch, which might mean something, but I haven’t figured that out yet.

The Movement

  • Look closer: Then I started to notice differences. The size, for example. Some are 38mm, others are bigger, like 43mm. I prefer the bigger ones, they just feel more substantial on my wrist. Also, I noticed that the real deal ones are usually manual-wind. It means you gotta wind them up yourself. Kind of old-school, but I dig it. Also the glass on top, the crystal, some are made of a material called Hesalite. From what I gather, that’s what they used back in the day.
  • Digging Deeper: I looked at a ton of pictures of real Speedmasters online, just to get a feel for the details. The logo, the little markings on the dial, everything. They should all be sharp. Then I checked the back. The real ones have this laser etching, which is super cool. I spent hours just comparing pictures. I wanted to know what to look for, what made a Speedmaster a Speedmaster.

So, I kept reading and watching videos. I learned about the “Moonwatch” – that’s the one that actually went to the moon! It’s got this black dial and a manual-wind thingy inside. They say it’s pretty much the same as the original one from back then. That’s pretty cool, right?

Then comes the tricky part. I realized there are a lot of, uh, “replicas” out there. Copycats, if you will. Some of them look pretty good, but you gotta be careful. I mean, if you’re gonna wear a Speedmaster, you want it to be the real deal, or at least a good copy, right?

Anyway, I finally decided to get one, this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Chronoscope, I mean. I found a guy who seemed to know what he was talking about. We talked for a while, and I made sure to ask him a bunch of questions. I checked all the details, the size, the markings, the etching on the back. It all looked good.

So, I pulled the trigger and bought it. And let me tell you, I’m happy I did. This watch, it’s just… cool. It’s got that vintage vibe, it’s well-made, and it feels great on my wrist. It’s not the real Moonwatch, but it’s a pretty darn good “original order” version, and it’s mine. And that’s all that matters, right?
