You know, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout these Rolex Submariner watches. They say they’re somethin’ special. Me? I don’t know nothin’ ’bout fancy watches. But these young’uns, they sure do love ’em. They say you can buy some online. Some online store or somethin’. But I don’t know about that, how can you be sure about what you are buying online.
My grandson, he’s always on that computer. He showed me these pictures of Rolex Submariner watches. Shiny things, they are. He says there are real ones and, well, not-so-real ones. He calls the not-so-real ones “high imitation.” Sounds kinda silly to me. Why not just buy the real thing if you want it so bad? But what do I know, I still have that old watch from twenty years ago.
These high imitation watches, they look just like the real ones, he says. He pointed at the pictures. “See, Grandma,” he says, “this one here, it’s a high imitation Rolex Submariner.” And I’ll be darned if it didn’t look just like the other one he showed me, the one he said was real and costs more than my old car! I told him, if it looks the same, then who cares? But my grandson, he says there are details and some movement, whatever that is.
He says some of these high imitation Rolex Submariner watches, they even have fancy insides. Like the real ones. “Swiss movements,” he calls it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a cuckoo clock to me. I don’t know, sounds expensive. But if they are high imitation, they should be cheap, right? So, maybe the movement thing is also high imitation?
And the outside, he says they make ’em with some kinda special stuff. “Ceramic,” he says. Like them plates we use for special occasions? I don’t know. Sounds fancy. Maybe they use some special clay. He says it makes the watch shiny and strong. I guess that’s important if you’re gonna wear it every day, you don’t want it to get broken like that time I dropped my favorite tea cup.
He says these high imitation Rolex Submariner online stores, they mark ’em up just like the real ones. Numbers and letters and whatnot. He says it makes ’em look even more real. One-to-one, he said. Sounds like a lot of work just to make somethin’ look like somethin’ else. He said, online, the real ones are very expensive, so if you are not rich, you can only afford a high imitation one. I don’t know about that.
These young folks and their fancy watches. Back in my day, we didn’t need no fancy watch to tell the time. We had the sun! And if it was cloudy, well, we just kinda guessed. Didn’t need no Rolex Submariner, real or high imitation, to tell us when it was time for supper.
But I guess times change. These kids today, they like their fancy things. And if they can’t afford the real thing, they get these high imitation ones. And these online stores, they seem to have plenty of ’em. High imitation Rolex Submariner online store, that’s what they call ’em, I think. Makes me chuckle just sayin’ it.
My grandson, he keeps talkin’ about these stores. He says they got all kinds of high imitation Rolex Submariner watches. Even old ones. He showed me pictures of those, too. They look just like the new ones, only a little older. He calls them “classic”. Maybe they have some history, like me, haha.

I guess if you’re into that kinda thing, it’s a good deal. You get a watch that looks like a Rolex Submariner, but it doesn’t cost as much. Still sounds like a lot of money to me, though. I remember when a dollar could buy you a whole meal! Now it can’t even buy a cup of coffee.
But who am I to judge? If it makes ’em happy, that’s all that matters. And these high imitation Rolex Submariner online stores, they seem to be makin’ a lot of folks happy. My grandson, he’s savin’ up his money to buy one. Says he’s gonna wear it every day. I told him to be careful with it. Wouldn’t want him to lose it, even if it is just a high imitation.
I still don’t understand all the fuss about these Rolex Submariner watches. But I guess it’s like anything else. Some folks like fancy cars, some folks like fancy houses. And some folks like fancy watches, even if they’re high imitation ones from some online store. As long as they are happy, that’s good. But don’t ask me about the details, I don’t know anything about those watches.
